Matrix Blue is turning out to be one of our most popular ceramic coating products. With a life of 3-years and the possibility to extend this with a top-up.
Blue is an economical option for many people who trade in their cars every few years, and it's a product we recommend for new cars.
However, this BMW 520d isn't brand new and has picked up a few scuffs, scratches, swirls and wash-marks. But that's no problem. Making cars like new again is our speciality.
We used paintwork correction to buff out any light scratches, dealing with each in detail, and then the whole car was machine polished several times to remove swirl marks and wash marks until all the paintwork was buffed to a high shine mirror finish.
The car was finished off with a ceramic coating of Matrix Blue ceramic paint protection to seal in all that shiny goodness. This was done by our resident BMW fanboy James. So when he says he's sure the customer is likely to have a smile on his face driving down the road, James is speaking from experience, because he has a ceramic coating on his own BMW.
The wheels were coated with ceramic, which is very heat-resistant and has a measure of anti-static, and so prevents hot metal partials from brake dust sticking to the wheel and turning them black. Wheels really are the hardest part of a car to clean and keep clean, and they can make-or-break the appearance of a car. So a coating which helps prevent build-up and helps you to wash away the dirt is a welcome benefit of having a ceramic coating.
What happens when your ceramic coating runs out?
Ceramic coatings have many benefits, and when it starts to wear through, you'll lose the benefits. The water won't bead up quite so much, it won't stay clean for quite so long, it won't be quite so easy to wash.
This won't happen all at once, of course, it won't suddenly stop working the day the warranty runs out. Some time after this, it will gradually begin to lose its lustre. The good news is, you don't need to let this happen. We have top-up products which add ceramic to your coating and extend its life.
