This video serves as a cautionary tale. This car is back with another leak after we fixed it before.
Previously, we found that one of the door membranes was leaking. The adhesive which holds them on hardens, dries and shrinks over time and becomes less sticky, meaning the membrane can come unstuck and let in water.
As all four-door membranes are likely to be the same age, and will perish at a similar rate, we always recommend that if one is leaking, you should replace or reseal all four.
Unfortunately, replacing four costs four times as much money as replacing just one, and some customers decided to take a chance and just do the one that has a problem.
Cars do come back with additional leaks, it's just the nature of this business, and if they do, we will re-dry the car for free, but to take advantage of this, they must follow the recommendations on the inspection report.
