Jaguar XK water leaks

0:04 When I first found it, slightly strangely to me... I've taken those off by the way, so I've got those, so you don't have to worry about them. The first one, actually most of the moisture, wetness, was here, strangely, rather than this side, okay? And then I dried it out, and I kind of, hoping that maybe I'd just done something silly and it was nothing. Anyway, it was out in the rain again, and our drive is sloped, so it's always sloped upwards.

0:44 Yeah, so nose up. Next time, there was water on both sides. And the other thing is under here, where the electrics go through for the soup, there's a gap there, and you can feel the sponge. It is now dry, but it was very wet, the sponge there. Oh, okay. Okay. I get that.

Nothing on the passenger side and nothing at the front. What about the boot? Have you had a look in the boot? I've had a look in the boot, and I've been looking at the spare wheel well, and I can't see anything.

It's in contact with the air.

2:16 So we've got the Jaguar XK here. As you can see, what we're doing is we've got all the seats suspended in the air, taking out all the underlay. You can see, I mean, if you just touch that, it is pretty wet under here. But the thing is, it's dry here, there's no signs of wetness around here. So what we're thinking is, is it's coming through this box section here, coming down, and you see that box section there, it's creeping underneath all the way back and then coming out here. You

2:51 can see there's water on the floor there, and there's signs of water there. But basically, you can see there also, that bolt isn't lined up properly, so we don't know if that's been taken out previously. This is why we've got some of the scuttle off as well. As you can see here, that bolt's not lined up.

3:13 That one's a bit off centre as well. So we don't know if it's had some previous work done or whatnot, but it doesn't matter, we're trying to figure out what's going on, cause we're thinking it could be coming through one of the gaskets below there. But it's just about trying to get a leak, get it to leak, without sort of overflowing it.

3:33 But yeah, we've got the UV dye out there. I'll show you, we've been testing. We've been testing all down here, you can see, trying to figure out if it's the door loom or not, because it's quite common as well, these are leaking, that door wire loom there. And you've also got grommet at the back there.

3:53 And obviously, if it's got signs of being taken off, sometimes they get put back on, probably. But yeah, we've got the UV dye in, and as you can see, we can't actually see any sort of residue anywhere. But yeah, it's alright, Wayne just started working on it, so we've still got a couple of hours left. But yeah, that's all, just a quick update.

4:18 So just a quick update on the Jag XK. You can see we've got hose going to the box section right now. What we've done is, what was happening, you can see, basically you can see water building up there. This is whilst we had the car parked on a flat. You could see in there, there was a water build up, and you could see the reflection coming off the water, but it wasn't coming into the back, which is why we were a bit confused. But what we've found now is, now that we've

4:41 parked it on a slope, as you can see, which is what you do at home, you can see here the water is actually coming through the box section itself. So you can see the water is coming, dripping down, and we're actually going all the way down here, through there, all the way down to the back. So yeah, that's it. Okay, good morning, just a quick update video for you. So the vehicle is all back together now, so seats all back in, carpets all back down, and it's all lovely and dry inside.

5:15 Unfortunately we are still waiting on the garage to give us a time slot to be able to get it across to them and get it up in the air. I know that they are obviously very busy at the moment, so as soon as we've got a time slot from them, it will be going across to them. So we are a little bit in a waiting game at the moment, purely because we don't have access. We've had a look to see if we could potentially jack it up ourselves to get underneath there, but we just don't have the

5:43 access that we need to be able to securely put those drainage grommets in. So from our end it's all good to go, however as soon as we've got the go ahead from the garage, it'll go across to there, pop up in the air, and obviously have those drainage bits pop in, and then it is all good to go. So it is a bit of a waiting game, unfortunately, but just wanted to let you know that from our end we've done as much as we can, ready for it to obviously be put the drainage bits in. So as soon

So I didn't want you to think that it's just been left to one side at all or anything like that. We are just waiting for them to be free to slot us in. 6:43 overnight to keep it nice and safe. So yeah, just wanted to give you a little update. Okay, so the vehicle has obviously all been cleaned and gone under our rain arch check. So inside the vehicle is all nice and dry, all together. Looks like those drainage holes are working absolutely perfectly, so no issues there.

7:03 As just said in the other video, you just need to obviously go out and have it's real world test, just be vigilant, test it as you have been before, just drive it as normal, park it as normal, and yeah, apart from that it's all good to go.
