Volkswagen Golf 2012 | water leak detection

This VW Golf has had some wiring work done in the back, which seems to be an after-market parking censor.

This doesn't seem to have anything to do with the leaks shown in this video, however we did find a grommet which they had cut a hole through and sealed up with electrical tape which could potentially cause a leak.

Electricians, putting holes where holes don't belong, is a common cause of leaks in cars and always worth investigation.

The Golf has one leaking rear door membrane. We would recommend replacing all four because if one has perished, it's likely the other three are not far behind.

One of the rear air vents is also leaking, which if you have watched any of our other videos, will come of no great shock. We would also recommend replacing both of these.

The housing around the pollen filter also tends to leak on Golfs and is worthy of a check-up.

If the customer decides to go ahead with the work, we will fix the leaks with replacement parts and thoroughly dry the car before putting it back together.

Question: "I have already found and fixed my leak, but how do I dry my car? Can you do it?"

Answer: We are happy to dry your car for you and can arrange just for that part of our service. Or if you think you can dry the car yourself, then there are videos below which offer advice.
